1048 Playing for the Team
19/05/2013
Text Transcript
I want you to imagine that you’re on a sporting team. The coach tells the team to do one thing, but everyone else has a different opinion. They’re all arguing in the dressing room – there’s tension, conflict … and then you head out onto the field. How well do you think the team is going to play that day?
Most of the things we do and achieve in our lives are done as part of a team. It’s how we’ve been made. But sometimes, boys and girls we don’t play together that well do we? Arguing, squabbling, comparing, competing like children.
The people in that mix who are the real blessing though, are the genuine team players. They’re the ones who refuse to play politics, the ones who stay focussed on the end game, the ones who quietly get on and do their job, and help the guy next to them as well.
They’re the people who get teamwork happening – the Bible calls it unity. And you know what, teamwork is fun. It’s really fun.
